Biography

I’m 17 years old from Surrey, BC. I started climbing when I was 5 at my local gym, Coastal Climbing Centre, where I still train today. I also train with the speed team at The Rock Wall in Maple Ridge and all around metro-Vancouver. Throughout my career, I have competed in all three disciplines of climbing, earning national titles in all three. I have represented Canada at four Youth World Championships since 2022, and I competed in my first senior world cups this summer. I am currently a high school student, graduating in June 2026 and hoping to study biomedical engineering next year.

In their words

How did you get into climbing?

I first discovered climbing at the age of 5, at a fundraiser event at my local gym, Coastal Climbing Centre, in Surrey. Summer camps followed and I eventually joined the Coastal youth team, which I still train on today! I grew up climbing on this team with my older sister, who was my earliest competitor and role model in climbing.

What do you enjoy doing outside of training?

Outside of climbing, I enjoy making art, especially designs of my fellow climbers which I turn into stickers. I have contributed my art skills to the climbing community by creating CEC’s official Personal Records Bell, and annual Youth National Team sticker designs. I also enjoy reading, and woodworking, and coaching the younger team of athletes at my gym.

What drives you to compete and excel in climbing?

I have always loved the pressure and excitement of competition. I’m so grateful for my teammates and the climbing community in BC for keeping me psyched. Being surrounded by so many other strong climbers continually motivates me to improve and chase big goals. Currently, I’m working hard towards my goal to make finals at the next Youth World Championships in Arco, as well as gain more experience at the senior world cup level.
