Biography

I grew up in Toronto, Ontario, where I spent many years in gymnastics. When I went to University, I stepped away from gymnastics and explored a variety of other sports in search of the right fit before being introduced to speed climbing at 21, during my final year at the University of Waterloo while completing my undergraduate degree in Physics and Astronomy.
Since then, speed climbing has become a huge part of my life. I now train as much as I can in the evenings and on weekends while pursuing my master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University.

Achievements

  • I got the opportunity to compete at the world championships this year (2025).

In their words

How did you get into climbing?

I did the RBC training ground program in 2023 and climbing was one of the sports I was selected for during the second round testing. I had never heard of speed climbing before that day, however I am glad they gave me that opportunity because climbing is now my favorite sport.

What do you enjoy doing outside of training?

Outside of climbing I am also on the track and field team at Toronto metropolitan University. I enjoy the short sprint, which is why I run the 60m and sometimes the 4x200m.
I am also in a juggling club at school, where I learnt to juggle and unicycle, activities that are surprisingly challenging and fun.

What drives you to compete and excel in climbing?

Representing team Canada has always been a dream of mine and I would love to continue doing this as long as I can.
Speed climbing also crates a strong sense of competition because you can see your time improve, and watching it get faster and faster motivates you to keep aiming higher.
