In their words

How did you get into climbing?

I loved climbing things around the house. My parents took me to a climbing gym, and I have loved it ever since. I was naturally strong, so I was pretty good from the start. I didn't know much about climbing. Nobody in my family climbed, except for my twin brother. It is really fun having a twin brother who is also really into climbing.

What do you enjoy doing outside of training?

Outside of training, I love coaching climbing. I am coaching a competitive team. I find it so much fun. I love working with the kids. It's cool seeing the next generation of climbers. I can help them succeed. I can teach them the things that I was taught by my coaches. I coach six days a week. I coach four days a week with this competitive team. I also love watching TV shows. It helps me relax and enjoy life. I climb five days a week and train for six. My life feels balanced.

What drives you to compete and excel in climbing?

I just love improving. I think this is a big motivator. I love the feeling of success. I train with my twin brother. We always push each other, and we're always trying to find ways to better our training and to better ourselves. I think we wouldn't enjoy climbing as much if we weren't always trying to improve. It is really motivating to see improvements. I think my brother is a big reason for what drives me to compete. It is fun seeing this friendly competition between us. He is the biggest competition and my biggest motivator.
