From Toronto, Ontario, Jacqueline started climbing at the age of 8. She is a 3 time Boulder Youth National Champion and has represented Canada at the IFSC World Youth Championships in both lead climbing and bouldering. She placed 3rd at the Pan Am Championships in 2024 (Santiago, Chile) in bouldering. Jacqueline climbs boulders at the local crag, Niagara Glen, whenever she can find the time to do so. Jacqueline is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Nanotechnology Engineering at the University of Waterloo and training mostly at Grand River Rocks Waterloo. She is a member of the University of Waterloo Climbing Club.
Like most other kids, my exposure to climbing was from being invited to a birthday party. Then, it was the March Break camp, and then the after school program. And eventually hitting the climbing gym every single day. It has just become a part of my life and now I enjoy climbing all around the world.
I go to kendo practice at the University of Waterloo Kendo Club when I have time, and I like playing video games such as Fire Emblem on the Nintendo DS. I also enjoy extracting caffeine from instant coffee (part of my lab) and studying organic chemistry and calculus (at the climbing gym).
My drive is to keep improving myself in climbing as much as I could. I would really like to be able to climb beautifully and do some cool climbing moves someday. Seeing all the climbers from all over the world climbing hard climbs motivates me to inch forward little by little.
